WHEREAS the second, third, fourth, and fifth registrations under the Selective Training and Service Act of 1940 and its amendments, took place in the United States, the Territories of Alaska and Hawaii, and in Puerto Rico, on July 1, 1941, February 16, 1942, April 27, 1942, and June 30, 1942, respectively, pursuant to proclamations pp. 1s92, 1t37, 199 issued by me on May 26, 1941, January 5, 1942, March 19, 1942, and May 22, 1942, respectively; WHEREAS a state of war exists between the United States of America and Japan, Germany, Italy, Rumania, Bulgaria, and Hun- gary; and WHEREAS this and other registrations under the Selective Train- 50 ut. s. ., app. ing and Service Act of 1940, as amended, are advisable to insure 301-318; Supp. I, victory, final and complete, over the enemies of the United States: 302-315 . Ante, pp. 369, 386 NOW, THEREFORE, I, FRANKLIN D. ROOSEVELT, President 724, 108 . of the United States of America, acting under and by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Selective Training and Service Act of 1940, as amended, do proclaim the following: Times for sixth reg- 1. The registration of male citizens of the United States and other male persons, who shall have attained the eighteenth anniversary of the day of their birth during the periods indicated below, shall take place in the United States and the Territories of Alaska and Hawaii, and in Puerto Rico, between the hours of 9:00 a. m. and 5:00 p. m. on the days hereinafter designated for their registration, as follows: (a) Those who were born on or after July 1, 1924, but not after August 31, 1924, shall be registered on any day during the week commencing Friday, December 11, 1942, and ending Thursday, December 17, 1942; (b) Those who were born on or after September 1, 1924, but not after October 31, 1924, shall be registered on any day during the week commencing Friday, December 18, 1942, and ending Thursday, December 24, 1942; (c) Those who were born on or after November 1, 1924, but not after December 31, 1924, shall be registered on any day during the period commencing Saturday, December 26, 1942, and ending Thurs- day, December 31, 1942; (d) During the continuance of the present war, those who were born on or after January 1, 1925, shall be registered on the day they attain the eighteenth anniversary of the day of their birth; provided, that if such anniversary falls on a Sunday or a legal holiday, their registration shall take place on the day following that is not a Sunday or a legal holiday.
