Provided, That no part of the amount appropriated in this Act in excess of 10 per centum thereof shall be paid or deliverel to or received by any agent or attorney on account of services rendered in connec- tion with this claim, and the same shall be unlawful, any contract to the contrary notwithstanding. Any person violating the provisions of this Act shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon con- viction thereof shall be fined in any sum not exceeding $1,000. Approved June 2, 1944. [CHAPTER 235] AN ACT For the relief of Hamp Gossett Castle, Lois Juanita Gimble, Margaret Carrie Yarbrough, and Roy Martin Lyons. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Treasury be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to pay, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, to Hamp Gossett Castle, of Mount Sylvan, Texas, the sum of $1,500; to Lois Juanita Gimble, of Lindale, Texas, the sum of $1,500; to Margaret Carrie Yarbrough, of Lindale, Texas, the sum of $2,000; and to Roy Martin Lyons, of Lindale, Texas, the sum of $2,500, in full settlement of all claims against the United States for personal injuries, and hospital and medical expenses incident thereto, sustained when the automobile in which they were riding was struck by a United States Army truck about eight miles east of Tyler, Texas, on the Tyler-Kilgore Highway, on August 30, 1941: Provided, That no part of the amount appropriated in this Act in excess of 10 per centum thereof shall be paid or delivered to or received by any agent or attorney on account of services rendered in connection with this claim, and the same shall be unlawful, any contract to the contrary notwithstanding. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secre- tary of the Treasury be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to pay, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, the sum of $500, to Miss Bernadine Salmons, of Sedalia, Missouri, in full settlement of all claims against the United States for personal injuries sustained by her as the result of an accident in which the auto- mobile in which she was riding was struck by a United States Army Air Corps tractor, on United States Highway Numbered 50, near Tipton, Missouri, on August 10, 1941: Provided, That no part of the amount appropriated in this Act in excess of 10 per centum thereof shall be paid or delivered to or received by any agent or attorney on account of services rendered in connection with this claim, and the same shall be unlawful, any contract to the contrary notwith- standing.
