Approved November 14, 1945. [CHAPTER 475] AN ACT For the relief of the estate of George J. Ross. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Treasury is authorized and directed to pay, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, to the estate of George J. Ross, of Salt Lake City, Utah, the sum of $5,000, in full satisfaction of the claim of such estate against the United States for compensa- tion for the death of the said George J. Ross, as a result of personal injuries sustained by him when the automobile in which he was riding collided with a Government-owned automobile driven by an employee of the Federal Public Housing Authority in the performance of his official duties, near Farmington, Utah, on March 20, 1944: Provided, That no part of the amount appropriated in this Act in excess of 10 per centum thereof shall be paid or delivered to or received by any agent or attorney on account of services rendered in connection with this claim, and the same shall be unlawful, any contract to the con- trary notwithstanding. Any person violating the provisions of this Act shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be fined in any sum not exceeding $1,000. Approved November 14, 1945. [CHAPTER 476] AN ACT For the relief of Charlie Tyson. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembced, That the Secretary of the Treasury is authorized and directed to pay, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, to Charlie Tyson, of Aberdeen, North Carolina, the sum of $1,500, in full satisfaction of his claim against the United States for compensation for personal injuries sustained by him as a result of having been shot by a member of the military police force of the Army of the United States, in Aberdeen, North Carolina, on April 25, 1943: Provided, That no part of the amount appropriated in this Act in excess of 10 per centum thereof shall be paid or delivered to or received by any agent or attorney on account of services rendered in connection with this claim, and the same shall be unlawful, any contract to the contrary notwithstanding.
