Be it enacted, 4§·c., That under the directions of the Secretary of War, P¤Yment for there shall be paid to Benjamin Murphy, of Arkansas, the reasonable §°’?·m‘°k°“ value of the corn, the cattle, and hogs, the property of said Benjamin, y n s` which were taken by the Cherokee Indians west of the river Mississippi, and appropriated to their own use, in the month of December, in the year one thousand eight hundred and twenty-eight : Provided, always, That the said Benjamin shall produce satisfactory evidence that his property was taken by said Indians, and the value of such property so taken. To be retained Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That said payment shall be made °“* °f°“”“l‘Y· out of any money in the treasury not otherwise appropriated; and the amount so paid shall he retained out of the annuity of the said Cherokee tribe of Indians.
