Be it enacted, &·c., That the Secretary of War be, and he hereby is, authorized and required to settle the accounts of Benjamin Franklin His upcounts Stickney, late agent of Indian affairs at Fort Wayne, for all services of :'5{;‘l;‘;‘:,;S’”* a military nature or character which shall appear to have been performed ,,,4 p,;d_ by the said Benjamin Franklin Stickney for the United States, between the twenty-second day of March, in the year eighteen hundred and twelve, and the tenth day of May, in the year eighteen hundred and fifteen, and to allow him such compensation for the same as has heretofore been allowed to other agents of Indian affairs for similar services, and that the amount found to be due the said Benjamin Franklin Stickney, be paid out of any money in the treasury not otherwise appropriated: Provided, That no allowance shall be made under the provi- Proviso. sions of this act, to the said Benjamin Franklin Stickney, for the performance of any of the ordinary duties of an agent of Indian affairs. Be it enacted, dw., That the Secretary of the Treasury pay to John McDonell, assignee of a claim of Pierre Le Blanc, out of any money in Payment for the treasury not otherwise appropriated, the sum of three hundred and gizgtféclglfgjxiy eighty dollars and twenty-tive cents, for forage, fuel, provisions, and u,ke'n_ other articles, necessarily taken and used by a corps of mounted Kentucky volunteers, under the command of Col. R. M. Johnson, the property of said Pierre Le Blanc, and which were taken by order of said Johnson, at the river Ecorces, on his march into Canada, in the fall of the year eighteen hundred and thirteen.
