C. 488), are hereby extended and confined to those governments 43 stat. 621. allied with the United States in the war since December 7, 1941, and prior to termination thereof. enefts and serv- (b) In consideration of reciprocal services extended to the United States, the Administrator of Veterans' Affairs is authorized, upon request of the proper officials of the government of any nation allied or associated with the United States in the present war to furnish to discharged members of the military or naval forces of any such government, under agreements requiring reimbursement in cash of expenses so incurred, at such rates and under such regulations as the Administrator may prescribe, medical, surgical and dental treatment, hospital care, transportation and traveling expenses, prosthetic appli- ances, education, training, or other similar benefits authorized by the laws of such nation for its veterans, and services required in extend- Hospitalization in g such benefits: Provided, That hospitalization in a veterans' facility shall not be afforded hereunder, except in emergencies, unless there be available beds surplus to the needs of veterans of this country: Provided further, That the Administrator may contract for necessary services in private, State, and other Government hospitals. Reimbursement. All amounts received by the Veterans' Administration as reimburse- ment for such services shall be credited to the current appropriation of the Veterans' Administration from which expenditures were made pursuant to this subsection. AN ACT To authorize payment for accumulated and accrued annual leave to female dietitians and physical-therapy aides whose civilian appointments were termi- nated pursuant to section 4 of the Act of December 22, 1942 (56 Stat. 1073). Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That, notwithstand- ing any other provision of law, any person whose appointment as a 526 Concerning the method of payment of the compensation of United States commissioners. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the fees of United States commissioners prescribed by law shall be paid out of the Treasury upon the approval of their accounts for such fees by the Director of the Administrative Office of the United States Courts. Such payment shall, however, be subject to the final settlement of such accounts in the General Accounting Office and to any adjustments of prior payments necessitated thereby.
