PUBLIC LAWS-CHS. 100, 101 , 103-MAR . 5, 8 , 1948 [62 STAT. [CHAPTER 100] AN ACT To authorize the Secretary of the Interior to prepare plans and estimates for a sewage-disposal system to serve the Yorktown area of the Colonial National Historical Park, Virginia, and for other purposes. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Interior, through the National Park Service, is hereby authorized and directed to make a study of sewage conditions in the Yorktown area of the Colonial National Historical Park, Virginia, and to prepare construction plans and estimates for an adequate sewage-disposal system for said area, including disposal of sewage from privately owned property in the locality of and within the said park. Such construction plans and estimates shall include an equitable asis for payment by private owners, who may use the sewage-disposal system, of a fair and reasonable proportionate share of the cost of construction of the said system and of the annual costs incidental to its maintenance and operation. SEC. 2 . The Secretary of the Interior shall transmit to the Congress a full and comprehensive report on this matter within one year from the date of appropriation of funds to carry out the provisions of this Act. Sa . . There is hereby authorized to be appropriated, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, the sum of $15,000 to carry out the provisions of this Act. Approved March 5, 1948. JOINT RESOLUTION To provide for the designation of the Park River dam and reservoir project in Walsh County, North Dakota, as the Homme Reservoir and Dam. Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Park River dam and reservoir project in Walsh County, North Dakota, shall be designated on the public records as the Homme Reservoir and Dam. Approved March 5, 1948. [CHAPTER 103] AN ACT To repeal the laws relating to the length of tours of duty of officers and enlisted men of the Army at certain foreign stations. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That that portion of the Act of March 4, 1915, as amended (10 U. S. C. 17), which reads "No officer or enlisted man of the Army shall, except upon his own request, be required to serve in a single tour of duty for more than two years in the Philippine Islands, on the Asiatic station, or in China, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, or the Panama Canal Zone, except in case of insurrection or of actual or threatened hostilities and except in the discretion of the Secretary of War for temporary emergencies: Provided, That the foregoing provision shall not apply to the organ- ization known as the 'Philippine Scouts'" is hereby repealed.
