[CHAPTER 172] AN ACT To transfer the Pomona station of the Agriculture Remount Service, Department of Agriculture, at Pomona, California. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of Agriculture is authorized and directed to transfer and convey to the W. K. Kellogg Foundation, Incorporated, without cost, the real property, comprising eight hundred and twelve acres, more or less, of the Agriculture Remount Station at Pomona, California, which tract, originally in the ownership of W. K. Kellogg, was conveyed to the United States acting through the War Department (now Depart- ment of the Army) and subsequently transferred to the Department of Agriculture pursuant to the Act of April 21, 1948 (62 Stat. 197) and such of the personal property of this station as may be agreed upon, in writing, by the Secretary of Agriculture and the W. K . Kellogg Foundation, Incorporated. Approved June 4, 1949. [CHAPTER 173] AN ACT For the relief of the estate of Mrs. Minerva C. Davis. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Treasury is authorized and directed to pay, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, to the estate of Mrs. Minerva C. Davis, the sum of $1,654.30, in full settlement of all claims against the United States for the amount of check numbered 308977 which was made payable to Mrs. Minerva C. Davis on account of pension due, but arrived at the post office of the addressee after her death and was returned to the Treasury for cancellation: Provided, That no part of the amount appropriated in this Act in excess of 10 per centum thereof shall be paid or delivered to or received by any agent or attorney on account of services rendered in connection with this claim, and the same shall be unlawful, any contract to the con- trary notwithstanding. Any person violating the provisions of this Act shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be fined in any sum not exceeding $1,000.
