Any person violating the provisions of this Act shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be fined in any sum not exceeding $1,000. Approved October 5, 1949. [CHAPTER 617] AN ACT To provide for the conveyance of land to the Norfolk County Trust Company in Stoughton, Massachusetts. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That, notwithstand- ing any other provision of law, the Administrator of General Services is authorized to sell at an appraised fair market value and convey by quitclaim deed to the Norfolk County Trust Company in Stoughton, Massachusetts, upon such terms and conditions as in his discretion he deems to be in the best interest of the United States, a triangular parcel of land off the northerly side of the United States post-office site at Stoughton, Massachusetts, particularly described as follows: Beginning at a point marked by a stone bound at the northwest corner of the post-office site, said point also being the intersection of the east side of Washington Street with the north side of the right- of-way nine feet wide, more or less; running thence eastwardly along the north side of said right-of-way a distance of eighty-six and two one-hundredths feet to a point in the west side of Park Street marked by a stone bound at the northeast corner of the post-office site; thence southwardly along the west side of Park Street a distance of eight and forty-one one-hundredths feet to a point in the south side of the said right-of-way; thence continuing southwardly along the west side of Park Street a distance of six and eight one-hundredths feet to a point; thence northwestwardly a distance of eighty-eight and sixteen one-hundredths feet to the point or place of beginning, containing six hundred and ten square feet, more or less. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Treasury be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to pay, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, the sum of $5,250 to Mrs. Mary A. Bailey, of Roswell, Texas, in full settlement of all claims against the United States for the death of her son, Malcom Joe Bailey, who was killed as a result of an accident involving a United States Army truck, in the town of Nash, Texas, on July 7, 1943: Provided, That no part of the amount appropriated in this Act in excess of 10 per centum thereof shall be paid or delivered to or received by any agent or attorney on account of services rendered in connection with this claim, and the same shall be unlawful, any contract to the contrary notwithstanding.
