63 STAT.] BELGIUM-AMERICAN DEAD IN WORLD WAR II--JAN. 17, 31 , 1949 Article X (which does not entail any further obligations on the part of Belgium with respect to World War I American military cemeteries and memorials): English text: "The provisions of this Agreement relative to the establishment, construction, improvement, and proper maintenance of permanent cemeteries and memorials are applicable to those of the war of 1914-1918 as well as to those of the war of 1939-1945." French text: "Les dispositions du pr6sent accord se rapportant A l'6tablisse- ment, A la construction, A l'embellissement et a l'entretien des cimetieres permanents et des monuments, sont applicables aussi bien Aceux de la guerre 1914-1918 qu'A ceux de la guerre 1939-1945." The Embassy would appreciate receiving from the Ministry for Foreign Affairs an acknowledgement of this communication confirm- ing the Ministry's agreement to the present texts of Articles IV and X as set forth above.
