SENOR EMBAJADOR: Tengo el honor de referirme a la atenta nota de Vuestra Excelencia nimero 105, de fecha 28 de julio recien pasado, relacionada con la pr6rroga, por un anio, del Programa Cooperativo Educacional que se ha desarrollado en el pafs, de conformidad con el convenio suscrito por el Ministro de Educaci6n Piblica, en representaci6n del Gobierno de Guatemala, y el predecesor del Instituto de Asuntos Inter- americanos, y la ampliaci6n del mismo, fechadas el 12 de agosto de 1944 y el 23 de octubre de 1945, respectivamente. Este Ministerio ha quedado debidamente enterado de que el ilustrado Gobierno de Vuestra Excelencia, tomando en consideracion los beneficios mutuos que se han derivado del Programa de referencia, esta de acuerdo con mi Gobierno sobre la conveniencia de prorrogar dicho Programa por un afio mIs a partir del 30 de junio de 1949. Asimismo, me complace comunicar a Vuestra Excelencia que el Mi- nisterio de Educaci6n Piblica, en representaci 6 n del Gobierno de Guatemala, ha manifestado que esta de acuerdo en que dicha prorroga se lleve a cabo bajo las siguientes condiciones: Durante el periodo de pr6rroga el Instituto de Asuntos Interameri- canos aportara al Servicio Cooperativo Interamericano de Educa- ci6n una contribuci6n de $30.000, moneda de los Estados Unidos, 'Aug. 23, 1949.
