Supplemental ^propriation Act, 1957.

CHAPTER 748

AN ACT Making supplemental appropriations for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1957, and for other purposes. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the following sums are appropriated, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, to supply supplemental appropriations (this Act may be cited as the "Supplemental Appropriation Act, 1957") for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1957, and for other purposes, namely: CHAPTER I DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE AGRICULTURAL RESEARCH SERVICE

For an additional amount for "Salaries and Expenses," for "plant and animal disease and pest control", $2,500,000 to oe apportioned for use pursuant to section 3679 of the Revised Statutes, as amended, for the control of outbreaks of insects and plant diseases under the joint resolution approved May 9, 1938 (7 U.S.C. 148-148e), and the Act of August 13, 1954 (7 U.S.C. 148), to the extent necessary to meet emergency conditions. ANIMAL DISEASE LABORATORY FACILITIES

For an additional amount for "Animal disease laboratory facilities," for establishment of such facilities, including construction and alteration of buildings and acquisition of necessary land by purchase, donation, or exchange, $16,250,000, to remain available until expended. The limitation under this head in the Department of Agriculture and F a r m Credit Administration Appropriation Act, 1957, on the amount of expenditures (including transfers) from this appropriation for other than payments to sugar producers is increased by $189,000.
