CHAPTER X I CLAIMS AND J U D G M E N T S For payment of chiims settled and determined by departments and agencies in accord with law and judgments rendered against the United States by the Ignited States Court of Claims and United States district courts, as set forth in House Document Numbered 317, Ninetieth Congress, $16,687,049, together with such amounts as may be necessary to pay interest (as and when specified in such judgments or provided by law) and such additional sums due to increases in rates of exchange as may be necessary to pay claims in foreign currency: Provided, That no judgment herein appropriated for shall be paid until it shall become final and conclusive against the United States by failure of the parties to appeal or otherwise: Provided further. That unless otherwise specifically required by law or by the judgment, payment of interest wherever appropriated for herein shall not continue for more than thirty days after the date of approval of the Act. TITLE II I N C R E A S E D P A Y COSTS For additional amounts for appropriations for the fiscal year 1968, for increased pay costs authorized by or pursuant to law, as follows: LEGISLATIVE BRANCH SENATE

Compensation of the Vice President and Senators, $1,305. Salaries, officers and employees, $315,689. Office of the Legislative Counsel, $10,955. CONTINGENT EXPENSES OF THE SENATE

Senate policy committees, $13,240. Automobiles and maintenance, $1,200. Inquiries and investigations, $174,990, including $6,020 for the Committee on Appropriations. Folding documents, $1,105. Miscellaneous items, $38,090, including $6,000 for payment to the Architect of the Capitol in accordance with section 4 of Public Law 87-82, approved July 1, 1961.
