Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That, in recognition piymouthProvincetown of the three hundred and fiftieth anniversary, in 1970, of the landing of ^^_^ „ Celebration Comthe Pilgrims at Provincetown and Plymouth, which led to permanent missron settlements whose influence on our history, culture, law, and commerce Establishment. extends through the present day, there is hereby established the Plymouth-Provincetown Celebration Commission (hereafter referred to as the "Commission"), for the purpose of developing suitable plans for such anniversary and conducting celebrations at appropriate times throughout the period beginning September 1, 1970, and ending November 30, 1971. SEC. 2. (a) The Commission shall be composed of thirteen members Membership. as follows: (1) four Members of the Senate, two from each of the two major political parties, to be appointed by the President pro tempore of the Senate; (2) four Members of the House of Representatives, two from each of the two major political parties, to be appointed by the Speaker of the House of Representatives; and (3) five members to be appointed by the President. (b) The President shall, at the time of appointment, designate one of the members appointed by him to serve as Chairman. (c) The members of the Commission shall serve without compensa- Travel extion, but shall be reimbursed for travel, subsistence, and other neces- P®"^®^* * * •

sary expenses incurred by them in carrying out the duties of the Commission. (d) Within ninety days after the termination of such celebration, p^*^°'ss*° the Commission shall furnish a report of its activities, including an °"^'"®*^* accounting of funds received and expended, to the Congress. Upon Termination. submission of such report to the Congress, the Commission shall termiaiate. SEC. 3.
