EXPENSES
For necessary expenses, not more than $911,350,000 may be expended as authorized by section 201(g)(1) of the Social Security Act, as amended, from any one or all of the trust funds referred to therein: ^9 st^a^ ^338. Provided, That such amounts as are required shall be available to pay the cost of necessary travel incident to medical examinations or hearings for verifying disabilities or for review of disability determinations, of individuals who file applications for disability determinations 42 under title II of the Social Security Act, as amended: Provided 429. u s e 401further, That $25,000,000 of the foregoing amount shall be apportioned for use pursuant to section 3679 of the Revised Statutes, as amended (31 U.S.C. 665), only to the extent necessary to process workloads not anticipated in the budget estimates and to meet mandatory increases in costs of agencies or organizations with which agreements have been made to participate in the administration of title X VIII and section 221 of title II of the Social Security Act, as amended, and after maxi- i^gsii^'^il^'^^' mum absorption of such costs within the remainder of the existing limitation has been achieved. SALARIES A N D E X P E N S E S
For the partial support of Gallaudet College, including repairs and improvements as authorized by the Act of June 18, 1954 (68 Stat. 265), $4,332,000: Provided, That Gallaudet College shall be paid by the District of Columbia, in advance at the beginning of each quarter, at a rate not less than $1,640 per school year for each student receiving elementary or secondary education pursuant to the Act of March 1, 1901 (31 D.C. Code 1008).
