AN ACT

i _ Making appropriations for energy research and development activities of certain departments, independent executive agencies, bureaus, offices, and commissions for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1975, and for other purposes.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Res^earch and "^^^ United States of America in Congress assembled, That the following Development sums are appropriated, out of any money in the Treasury not other^ITTQIT^^'^ ^^^^ appropriated, for energy research and development activities of certain departments, independent executive agencies, bureaus, offices, and commissions for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1975, and for other purposes, namely:

TITLE I CHAPTER I ^ ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY ENERGY RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT

For energy research and development activities, including hire of passenger motor vehicles; hire, maintenance, and operation of aircraft; uniforms, or allov^ances therefor, as authorized by section 5901-5902, United States Code, title 5; services as authorized hj 5 U.S.C. 3109, but at rates for individuals not to exceed the per diem rate equivalent to the.rate of GS-18; purchase of reprints; library memberships in societies or associations which issue publications to members only or at a price to members lower than to subscribers who are not members; $54,000,000, to remain available until expended. CHAPTER II NATIONAL AERONAUTICS AND SPACE ADMINISTRATION RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT

For necessary expenses of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration relating to programs and other activities in research and development, including services as authorized by 5 U.S.C. 3109, $4,435,000, to remain available until expended. NATIONAL SCIENCE FOUNDATION SALARIES AND EXPENSES

For expenses necessary to carry out the purposes of the National Science Foundation Act of 1950, as amended (42 U.S.C. 1861-1875), title IX of the National Defense Education Act of 1958 (42 U.S.C. 1876-1879), including award of graduate fellowships; services as authorized by 5 U.S.C. 3109; maintenance and operation of aircraft and purchases of flight services for research support; hire of passenger motor vehicles; not to exceed $2,200,000 for program development and management; uniforms or allowances therefor, as authorized by law (5 U.S.C. 5901-5902); rental of conference rooms in the District
