PUBLIC LAW 95-626—NOV. 10, 1978 TITLE VIII—STUDY OF ADOLESCENT PREGNANCY

SEC. 801. (a) The Secretary of Health, Education, and Welfare shall contract with an independent entity to perform a study of the problem of adolescent pregnancies. The study shall evaluate the effectiveness of existing programs relating to health, education, and public welfare, as they relate to this problem, and shall include suggestions as to the most effective means for reducing or eliminating unwanted adolescent pregnancies. The Secretary shall report the results of such study to the Congress not later than one year after the date of the enactment of this Act. (b) There are authorized to be appropriated such sums, not to exceed $500,000, as may be necessary to carry out the provisions of this section. Approved November 10, 1978.
