Public Law 96 -587 96th Congress An Act Authorizing appropriations to the Secretary of the Interior for services necessary to the nonperforming arts functions of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, and for other purposes.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled. That subsection (e)John F..Kennedy of section 6 of the John F. Kennedy Center Act (Public Law 85-874, as Center for the amended; 20 U.S.C. 761) is amended by adding at the end thereof the Performing Arts. Appropriation following: "There is authorized to be appropriated to carry out this authorization. subsection not to exceed $4,287,000 for the fiscal year ending Septem- 20 USC 76/. ber 30, 1980, and not to exceed $4,400,000 for the fiscal year ending September 30, 1981.". SEC. 2. Ralph E. Becker is hereby designated an honorary trustee of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in recognition of his distinguished service as a founding trustee and general counsel for the Center from 1958 to 1976. Approved December 23, 1980.
