Public Law 97-260 97th Congress Joint Resolution To provide for the appointment of Nancy Hanks as a citizen regent of the Board of Regents of the Smithsonian Institution.

Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled. That the vacancy in the Smithsonian Board of Regents of the Smithsonian Institution, of the class other institution. than Members of Congress, which will occur by the expiration of the term of James E. Webb of the District of Columbia on June 21, 1982, is filled by the appointment of Nancy Hanks of the District of Columbia for the statutory term of six years. Approved September 18, 1982.
