ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ADMINISTRATION ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS For economic development assistance as provided by the Public 42 USC 3121 Works and Economic Development Act of 1965, as amended, and a?^; • q-Tc Public Law 91-304, and such laws that were in effect immediately »4£,tat.d/{). y^^^^^ September 30, 1982, $240,000,000: Provided, That during fiscal year 1984 total commitments to guarantee loans shall not exceed $150,000,000 of contingent liability for loan principal. SALARIES AND EXPENSES For necessary expenses of administering the economic develop- ment assistance programs as provided for by law, $27,500,000: Pro- vided, That these funds may be used to monitor projects approved pursuant to title I of the Public Works Employment Act of 1976, as 42 USC 6701 amended, title II of the Trade Act of 1974, as amended, and the 19 USC 2251 Community Emergency Drought Relief Act of 1977. INTERNATIONAL TRADE ADMINISTRATION OPERATIONS AND ADMINISTRATION For necessary expenses for international trade activities of the Department of Commerce, including trade promotional activities abroad without regard to the provisions of law set forth in 44 U.S.C. 3702 and 3703; full medical coverage for dependent members of immediate families of employees stationed overseas; employment of Americans and aliens by contract for services abroad; rental of space abroad for periods not exceeding five years, and expenses of alter- ation, repair, or improvement; purchase or construction of tempo- rary demountable exhibition structures for usc abroad; payment of tort claims, in the manner authorized in the first paragraph of 28
