(6) For military family housing functions— (A) for construction and acquisition of military family housing and facilities as authorized by title III, ^"^«. P ^^^• $112,649,000; and (B) for support of military family housing, $770,244,000, of which not more than $492,000 may be obligated or expended for the leasing of military family housing units in the United States, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, and Guam and not more than $53,046,000 may be obligated or expended for the leasing of military family housing units in foreign countries. (b) Notwithstanding the cost variations authorized by section 2853 of title 10, United States Code, and any other cost variations author- ized by law, the total cost of all projects carried out under section 301 may not exceed the total amount authorized to be appropriated under paragraphs (1) and (2) of subsection (a). AUTHORIZATION OF APPROPRIATIONS, DEFENSE AGENCIES SEC. 604. (a) Funds are hereby authorized to be appropriated for fiscal years beginning after September 30, 1983, for military con- struction, land acquisition, and military family housing functions of the Department of Defense (other than the military departments) in the total amount of $306,386,000 as follows: (1) For projects authorized by section 401 that are to be Ante, p. 775. carried out inside the United States, $143,070,000. (2) For projects authorized by section 401 that are to be carried out outside the United States, $90,572,000. (3) For unspecified minor construction projects under section 2805 of title 10, United States Code, $4,000,000. (4) For construction projects under the contingency construc- tion authority of the Secretary of Defense under section 2804 of title 10, United States Code, $16,000,000. (5) For architectural and engineering services and construc- tion design under section 2807 of title 10, United States Code, $33,000,000. (6) For military family housing functions— (A) for construction and acquisition of military family housing and facilities as authorized by title IV, $1,245,000; ^"^^. P '^75. and (B) for support of military family housing, $18,499,000, of which not more than $15,231,000 may be obligated or expended for the leasing of military family housing units in foreign countries. (b) Notwithstanding the cost variations authorized by section 2853 of title 10, United States Code, and any other cost variations author- ized by law, the total cost of all projects carried out under section 401 may not exceed the total amount authorized to be appropriated under paragraphs (1) and (2) of subsection (a).
