In WiCHE [Wick by Pershore] are 6 hides. There, in (the) demesne, is i plough, and (there are) 9 villeins and 25 bordars with 12 ploughs, and i serf, and a fishery. It is worth 3 pounds. Of these 6 hides, Urse holds I hide and Gilbert half a hide. Tor and Osward were the holders. It is worth 25 shillings. In Pendesham [Pensham] are 2 hides, and they are in demesne. It was worth 60 shillings ; now 40 shillings. In Bricstelmestune [Bricklehampton] are 10 hides. which appears to represent the English 'by wode and by felde.' The regular equivalent in Latin charters is ' in bosco et piano.' See Geoffrey de Mandeville, p. 241. {bovar').
