RUMJAHN, Ahmet (HONGKONG), Merchant; b. Hongkong, May 16, 1863. Educ.: Government Central School; won Morrison scholarship in 1882. Started business as land and commission agent; founded Curreem and Co., subsequently changed to Rumjahn and Co.; proprietor of H. Price and Co.: Member, Sanitary Board, 1903-5: took an active part in getting amendments of the Public Health and Buildings Ordinance of 1903, when first introduced by the Government; prime mover in bringing about the introduction of the ridermain system when the Water Supply Ordinance of 1902 was introduced; made a J. RUSSELL, Wilmot Peregrine Maitland (CHUNGKING), B.A.; H.B.M. Acting Consul; b. June 6, 1874. Educ.: Rugby School; Exeter Coll., Oxford. Appointed a Student Interpreter in China, March 1, 1898; was at Peking during siege of Legations 1900; acting Consul at Wuhu, 1903; acting Consul, at Hankow, 1903; acting Consul at Chungking, since Nov. 11, 1904.
