Planned Parenthood Federation of America, Inc. (PPFA) is a nonprofit organization that provides reproductive health care in the United States and globally. It has its roots in the American Birth Control League, founded by Margaret Sanger in 1921; it was reorganized in 1938 as the Birth Control Federation of America, and renamed in 1942 to its current name.
