Handle System

Can we add |hdl=, for w:Handle System identifiers? See Author:Marcus Ward Lyon, Jr. for page where I tried to use them, and w:Author:Marcus Ward Lyon, Jr. for the equivalent Wikipedia page, where the template accepts them. @Pigsonthewing: (I'm not really following the discussion that's going on on the Scriptorium, so I'm replying here!) I had an idea to make a Wikidata-powered template for use on author pages, with {{edition-inline}}. It could easily be extended to include hdl links. @Samwilson: The discussion on Scriptorium is largely not about displaying Handle IDs. If we decide to go down the Wikidata route then a good start would be to import w:en:Template:Cite Q; see that template's talk page for outstanding issues. Some fields not really working

It is really a pity that some of the fields of the Template do not really work on Wikisource. For instance: "author-link". Is there a way to fix these things? --Dick Bos (talk) 16:03, 1 August 2019 (UTC)
