The Search for Sir John Franklin

Commander Thomas Arthur Hull, R.N., retired, has died at Honor Oak at the age of 74. He took part in the Behrings Straits Arctic Expedition in search of Sir John Franklin from 1849 till 1854, for which he had the old Arctic medal. In 1861 he received the thanks of the Admiralty for his surveying services in the Red Sea. From August 1873 till December 1879 Commander Hull was superintendent of charts in the Hydrographic Department at the Admiralty, and was afterwards Inspector of Admiralty Charts of the Mercantile Marine.—"Daily Chronicle."
