Olives and Olive Oil. — In Nazareth olives are measured by the kail, which equals 70 kilos. In Jerusalem, Jaffa and Hebron they are measured by weight.

Olive oil is reckoned in Jerusalem and Jaffa by the jarra, which equals 6 rotls or 17-500 kilos. In Nazareth it is measured by the rotl, which equals 2 okkas or 2| kilos. Currency. — For currency, see Part V., § 3. Time. — The time adopted in Palestine is Eastern Euro- pean time, which is two hours later than Greenwich.
