Malgandadeva Mudaliar, Arcot, Rao Bahadur, (1901), Bangalore; 2nd s. of Munisamy Mudaliar and nephew of late Rai Bahadur Dharmaratnakara Arcot Narayanaswami Mudaliar; b. 1862; educ: privately; joined the business of his uncle and showed much skill and became Manager of the whole business; m. Sivagagai Ammal, 18S1; wife died. 1893; built a Gosha Hospital on the occasion of the Diamond Jubilee and in memory of his wife; was instrumental in establishing the Bangalore Social Club and in locating the Theosophical Society there; was a Municipal Commissioner, Bangalore, for many years and has been a special Magistrate; is Director and Chairman, Mysore Fruit Syndicate; Chairman, Mysore Tannery Co., Ltd.; Director, Bangalore Woollen and Silk Mills Co., Ltd.; Director, Bangalore Bank, Ltd.; President, Hindu Widows’ Pension Fund.
