Lieut, and Custos Rotulorum. Co. Down (1915): M.P. for Maidstone, 1906-15; A.D.C. to Lieut.-General Sir W. P. Pulteney, K.C.B., British Expeditionary Force in France, 1914-15, and served with R.H.G., 1915-17 (despatches twice); Member of Irish Convention, 1917-18; Under-Secretary of State for Air, 1920-21; Minister for Education, Northern Ireland, from 1921; Member of Senate, Northern Ireland, 1921; son of Charles Stewart, 6th Marquess, K.G., and Lady Theresa Talbot, eldest dau. of the 19th Earl of Shrewsbury; b. 13th May, 1878; s. his father, 8th Feb., 1915; m. 28th Nov., 1899, Edith, D.B.E.
