Being the 13th year of the present reign

King Ananda Mahidol is pleased to give a Great Royal Command that it be announced as follows:

Whereas it is appropriate to reinstate the civil, military, or police public servants who opposed military operations of Japan, for their acts are unpunishable according to the Act Granting Amnesty to Those Who Opposed Military Operations of Japan, 2489 Buddhist Era;

Therefore, by and with the advice and consent of the House of Representatives, He is graciously pleased to enact the following Act:

Section1.This Act shall be called the Reinstatement of Civil, Military, or Police Public Servants Who Opposed Military Operations of Japan Act, 2489 Buddhist Era.

Section2.This Act shall enter into operation from the day of its publication in the Royal Gazette onwards.

Section3.The civil, military, or police public servants who opposed military operations of Japan or worked for such purpose, if having resigned from the public service or having been dismissed from the public service, shall be reinstated by their superior ministries as public servants in their former positions whenever the positions become vacant, for their acts are unpunishable according to the Act Granting Amnesty to Those Who Opposed Military Operations of Japan, 2489 Buddhist Era.

If it is not possible to reinstate them as public servants in their former positions, they shall be instated in the positions, classes, and levels not lower than those formerly belonging to them.

Section4.Before granting the reinstatement according to the stipulations of section 3, the superior ministries shall conduct prior inquiry to ascertain that the public servants who have resigned or been dismissed have actually resigned or been dismissed on account of having opposed the military operations of Japan or having worked for such purpose, even though their letters of resignation or dismissal contain different reasons.

Section5.The civil, military, or police public servants who have been reinstated to the regular service in accordance with this Act shall be deemed to have been in the public service uninterruptedly, that is to say, the period prior to the day of resignation or dismissal and the day of reinstatement in the public service shall also be counted for the calculation of biawat or bamnet and bamnan.

Section6.The Prime Minister shall be in charge of the implementation of this Act.
