Announcement
of Appointment of Regent

Whereas Nai Pridi Banomyong has already been appointed as Regent by a resolution of the House of Representatives, according to the Announcement of the President of the House of Representatives dated the 1st day of August 2487 Budddhist Era;

And whereas the King is about to attain majority on the 20th day of September 2488 Buddhist Era, but, due to travel difficulties, He is unable to return to the Kingdom and timely appoint a Regent, which has to be effected by enactment of a royal decree;

​As a result, a resolution has been passed, since the 6th day of September 2488 Buddhist Era, by the House of Representatives by the power under the dispositions of section 10 of the Constitution of the Kingdom of Thailand that Nai Pridi Banomyong shall continue to hold the position of Regent from the 20th day of September of the present year until the King returns to the Kingdom.

This Announcement is therefore made for general information.
