why, so far as i know, the German anthem begins with "Deutschland, Deutschland, über alles..."?

Before 1949 (or to be precise: in fact from 1871 to 1945) all three parts of the Deutsche Nationalhymne had to bee used: unsigned comment by I like Burke's Peerage (talk) 17:16, 26 July 2006.
