[Provisional Constitutions of Rojava][edit]

The Constitution of Rojava was written January 29, 2014 when the people of Rojava declared their autonomy in Northern Syria.: Constitution of the Rojava Cantons

This is not a constitution in the traditional sense as the document rejects forming a separate nation-state.
Instead, the desire is for the region to function within broader Syria based on the laws and principles outlined in the constitution.
However, the hope is that the transition to a new Syria be based on these principles of pluralism and democracy.
