Standards categories[edit]
Hello Andrew8, I see you've created a category tree for standards. Are you going to fill in some content? There is not much point in having a lot of very specialised categories lingering about emptily. In the welcome message above you find some pointers to help you adding your first text unit. Also, have a look at what we include. Regarding standards, note that pure reference data and evolving works are excluded from Wikisource. Finally, I see you have appended "… (and related documents)" to some category titles. Normally, this is not necessary because usually such relatedness is quite understood, and it makes the category title unnecessarily awkward. If you have further questions, you can contact me on my talk page.--GrafZahl 16:39, 6 March 2007 (UTC)
- Your plans sound great. Only pure reference data (tables, source code, a decimal representation of a number, etc.) without any connection to a source text are excluded. I'd be more worried about the "no evolving works" part: standards which receive amendments may be problematic, depending on how such amendments are handled. Also note that text units must be in wiki markup (see my reply on WS:RFA#PDFs?). Well, don't be overly worried. Be bold. If you're unsure about how to precisely execute your project, feel free to start a new thread in the Scriptorium.
- About talk pages, you can use the "+" link in your editorial controls to start a new thread and the section edit link beneath the thread name to post a reply. You can sign your post with four tildes,

. The software will automatically insert your name and the date.--GrafZahl 13:38, 7 March 2007 (UTC)
Your account will be renamed[edit]
Hello,
The developer team at Wikimedia is making some changes to how accounts work, as part of our on-going efforts to provide new and better tools for our users like cross-wiki notifications. These changes will mean you have the same account name everywhere. This will let us give you new features that will help you edit and discuss better, and allow more flexible user permissions for tools. One of the side-effects of this is that user accounts will now have to be unique across all 900 Wikimedia wikis. See the announcement for more information.
Unfortunately, your account clashes with another account also called Andrew8. To make sure that both of you can use all Wikimedia projects in future, we have reserved the name Andrew8~enwikisource that only you will have. If you like it, you don't have to do anything. If you do not like it, you can pick out a different name.
Your account will still work as before, and you will be credited for all your edits made so far, but you will have to use the new account name when you log in.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Yours,
Keegan Peterzell
