Joseph the Hymnographer
(c. 816 – 886)

Thessalonian hieromonk and prominent Orthodox hymnographer and poet. He is often confused with the earlier poet Joseph of Thessalonica, and many works "by Joseph" are still disputed as to which of the two is the author.
