Subpages in Page:namespace

[edit]

This came up in a Scriptorum/Help dicussion recently. If this isn't an appropriate place to document it isn't possible, where is? ShakespeareFan00 (talk) 19:40, 16 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

You're the first person I'm aware of who has even thought of it. The page: namespace is supposed to be a flat structure. Mentioning it is tantamount to w:WS:BEANS. Beeswaxcandle (talk) 19:48, 16 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
In the thread linked, I had a specfic use case in mind. Some of it can met with sections though. ShakespeareFan00 (talk) 20:00, 16 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

Image format for Page:

[edit]

On Page: pages their

Image

tabs link to images (of respective pages) in the JPEG format, whereas rendering PDF and DjVu to PNG usually produces superior quality.

Neither Wikimedia technicians nor broad masses of users press for high-quality images. Ten months ago I developed a script showing PDF and DjVu in PNG on wiki pages, although major Wikimedia sites such as en.Wikipedia and Commons were (again) not interested in deployment. The same thing was requested in phab:T219863 server-side, but no volunteer is willing to edit the extension. The script successfully shows <img> in PNG here on Page:s, although does not change <a href=…> for the Image tab. Incnis Mrsi (talk) 12:34, 28 January 2020 (UTC)Reply
