Layout notes

[edit]

To ensure consist layout of poems across this work, follow these guidelines:

  • Use {{gap}} for indenting lines rather than colons (:)
  • Finish lines with <br />
  • Don't use {{}} for em-dashes or manually insert spaces. If unable to type the '—' character directly, then use {{--}} (two hyphens)
  • Centre stanza numbers with {{c}} or {{center}}
  • Use {{x-larger}} for poem titles and leave subtitles at standard text size
  • Centre poems on the page with {{block center}}. Poems that go over page breaks (most of them) should be done with {{block center/s}} and {{block center/e}}. See notes at {{block center}} for a detailed explanation.
  • Put two blank lines before a {{nop}} when a page ends on a stanza break. Conversely, don't use a {{nop}} when a page ends part way through a stanza, but do use a <br />
  • Hang punctuation at the beginning of lines using {{fqm}}
