The Eminent Women Series (some volumes titled Famous Women Series) was edited by John H. Ingram. All but one of the biographical volumes were themselves written by women. British editions published by W. H. Allen & Co. in London. American editions published by Roberts Brothers in Boston, later by Little, Brown and Company in Boston.
