RIPLIANCUM. Supposed by some to be lake Ontario, but evidently one of that great chain of lakes. Its meaning is said to be, "large, or to excel all," (Ether, 15:8.) Near its waters the opposing Jaredite armies, commanded by Coriantumr and Shiz, camped, and afterwards fought an exceedingly sore battle, in which the latter was defeated and driven southward towards the hill Ramah, or Cumorah.
