Pa. סדיק te split. Targ. Ps. LX, 4 שדיק׳ (some ed. סדק׳; ed. Lag. סריק׳; corr. acc.; h. text פצמ׳).
סק m. (preced.) 1) split, slit. Bekh. 37b שהוא כל הס׳ a slit in the ear disqualifies, even if it be of the minutest size. Koh. R.to I, 8פתח של סידקו כמבין like looking through the crack of a door; a. e. -- Pl. סדקים, סדקון. Pes. 8a לחורין ולס׳ into holes and fissures. Ib. III, 5 (48b) שנתערבו סיווק וכ׳ סדקיו (Bab. ed. סדקין) dough is called sidduk, when its cracks run into one another. Ib. 488b סדק כל לך אין וכ׳ ס׳ כמה . וסדק for every crack on the surface there are several inside. Ib. סדקי, סדקית, v. sub סיד׳.
סדר (Saf. of דור) to arrange, order (corresp. to b. h. ערר). Pes. 54a הכוס על סודרן he pronounces them (the benedictions) in successive order over the cup. Yoma. 45b top המזבח ע'ג שסודרן that he must place them in order on the altar; וסודרן . . . הכבש על שסודרן that he must arrange them on the bridge or on the rim of the altar, until a large pile (of wood) is formed, when he must put them in order (on the altar); Tam. II, I; a. fr. -- Part. pass. סדור; f. סדורה &c. Taan. 8a שאינה משנתו בשביל עליו ס׳ it is because his learning is not properly system- atised in his mind. Ber. 57a לו ׳p עונותיו his sins are arranged before him; לימחל סס ס מאי what does this mean ?? It means that they are arranged (ready) to be forgiven; Yoma 88a. B. Bath. 69a לגדר הס׳ אבנים stones arranged for erecting a fence, contrad. to צבורות piled up (v. סור); a. fr. Pi. סידר 1) ame Tam. II, 3 המערכה אש לסקר to arrange the pyre, v. מערכה. Num. R. s. 4וכ׳ לחם מסדרין כיצד how did they arrange the showbread?; ib. also מסדירים, מסדירין (Hif.); a. fr. - שבח ס׳ (cmp. ערד, Ps. V, 4, a. e.) to offfer praise. Ab. Zar. 7b; Ber. 32a וכ׳ אדם יסדר לעולם one should always offer praise to the Lord first, and then pray (for what he needs). Ib. 34a וכ׳ שמסדר לעבד דומה ראשונות in the first three benedictions of the Tfillah one is like a servant that offers praise to his master; a. fr. -- Part. pass. מסודר. Mets. 113b חוב בבעל מסדרין כך בערכין שמסדרין כדרך as well as we allow an exemmption from seiure in cases of Vows, so we allow it in cases of debt; [Rashi quotes a Varl משרדין, v. שרד]. Ned. 65b וכ׳ מסדרין אין מינה שמעת (Var. משיירין) from this you may deduce that no exemption is granted the debtor; B. Mets. 114a וכ׳ שיסדרו מהו is a debtor allowed an exemption ? Y. B. Kam. Yoma. 38b קמיה אגדתא מסדר דהוה who reviewed before him the homiletic sayings according to a certain system; a. fr. -- Y. Ab. Zar. V, 44a וכ׳ לאילין נסדר נקרון let us get up early and set in order those thorn-bushes (meaning, let us kill those men). - Shebu. 30b דיניה דמסדר כמאן דמחזי Ms. M. סדר m. (b. h. סדרים pl.; סדר) row, pile, arrangement, order, succession. Num. R. s. 4 וכ׳ זה לס׳ חלות ו׳ six cakes in one pile and six in the other. Yoma V, 7 האמור . כל וכ׳ הס׳ על as to all the acts for the Day of Atonement here told in their consecutive order, if he advanced (changed the order) &c. SifraTsav, Mill. הקרבנות את הסדיר סידרן the text arranges the sacrificial functions in their proper succession. Y oma 73a sq. כס׳ שלא שאל דוד David did not put his questions (I Sam. XXIII, 11) in their natural order. Meg. III, 4 לכסדרן חוזרין the regular reading (interrupted during the four distinguished Sab-- baths, v. פרשה) is resumed.
