Wallace (1941 - 1945) and Harry Truman, succeeding Herbert Hoover; succeeded by Truman. 44th Governor of New York (1929 - 1932). Assistant Secretary of the Navy (1913 - 1920). Grandnephew by marriage of fifth United States President James Monroe; fifth-cousin of 26th United States President Theodore Roosevelt.
