    • The book's preface says that most chapters are based on stories from French periodicals; of the twelve chapters, eight have been identified as translations from several authors, none of which are Miltitz
    • The attribution to Miltitz is probably the result of a confusion of this book's title with Miltitz' short story "Die zwölf Nächte" ('The Twelve Nights')
