The Armenian Genocide (also known as the Armenian Holocaust or the Armenian Massacre) is a term which refers to the forcible deportation and massacring of hundreds of thousands to one and a half million Armenians during the First World War, in the Ottoman Empire from 1915-1917. Other ethnic groups affected in the same genocide were Assyrians and Greeks.
