[edit] Linking to Wikimedia sites

Generally there is no requirement to utilise these templates for Wikimedia sites — commons, wikipedia, wiktionary, wikiversity, wikiquote, wikinews, wikispecies, wikibooks and meta — as the various headers utilised at wikisource — {{header}}, {{author}}, {{portal header}}, {{process header}} — all contain components to link to these sites.

Outside of local namespace that utilise header formats, we would encourage editors to utilise the template {{plain sister}} to provide a standardised link.

These templates allow simplified or standardised linking to another wiki, including wikis outside the Wikimedia Foundation.
