United Kingdom:

  • Defamation Act 1952 (15 & 16 Geo. 6 and 1 Eliz. 2 c. 66), an UK Act of Parliament that updates defamation and libel law and provides for consequential defence.
  • Defamation Act 1996 (c. 31), an UK Act of Parliament that further updates defamation and libel law, provides for summary disposal and relief of related lawsuits, and make court proceedings and certain statement free from defamation and libel lawsuits.
  • Defamation Act 2013 (c. 26), an UK Act of Parliament that introduces the serious harm requirement for defamation lawsuits, provides for fresh defences, court procedures, and repeals the Slander of Women Act 1891.
