Transcription[edit]

The text of the work is transcribed 'as-is', with the following exceptions:-

  • The long 's' is not replicated.
  • In a few instances on some pages 'w' is represented by 'vv'. These are transcribed as 'w'.

Sidenotes[edit]

Sidenotes have been converted to footnotes. Due to the poor quality of the scan, it is difficult to read the sidenotes, especially those which include Greek. Their content has been gleaned by reference to both this work and later editions, mainly one from 1858 Chrisguise (talk) 10:27, 26 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

ToC naming convention[edit]

The titles of the individual poems have been retained as printed (spelling preserved).

Where two poems have the same title, or have a title such as 'To the same', the file names are differentiated by (1), (2), etc. Chrisguise (talk) 07:07, 5 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
