Bovill, (Hon.) Sir Elliot Charles, Knt., chief justice of Cyprus since 1883, B.A. Christ Church, Oxon, from Westminster School, member of joint (legal) Board of Examiners Inns of Court 1878-81, assistant judicial commissioner of Cyprus 1881-3, knighted by letters patent dated 11 Aug., 1884, a student of Lincoln's Inn 23 April, 1869 (then aged 20), called to the bar 27 Jan., 1873 (4th son of late William John Bovill, Q.C., of Lincoln's Inn); born , 1849; married 27 July, 1876, Anna, younger dau. of Rev. John Tahourdin White, D.D., rector of St. Martin's, Ludgate.
