Pearson (Hon.), Sir John, Knt., a justice of the High Court of Justice, Queen's Bench Division, since 1882, member of Council of Legal Education, M.A., Gonville and Caius Coll., Camb., 1844, knighted 30 Nov., 1882, a student of Lincoln's Inn 3 June, 1841 (then aged 21), called to the bar 11 June, 1844, Q.C. 15 Dec, 1866, bencher 11 Jan., 1867, treasurer 1884-5 (eldest son of Rev. John Norman Pearson, of Tunbridge Wells); born , 1820; married 21 Dec, 1854, Charlotte Augusta, dau. of Rev. William Short, late rector of St. George's, Bloomsbury.
