Leominster 1849-52, Bury 1852-7, 1859-65, under-secretary for the colonies 1851-2, 1852-5, for war 1855-7, financial secretary to treasury 1860-6, sheriff Warwickshire 1873, D.L., K.C.M.G. 30 June, 1869, a student of the Inner Temple 5 May, 1845 (then aged 21), called to the bar 2 Feb., 1849 (2nd son of late Rt. Hon. Sir Robert Peel, Bart., M.P.); born 26 Oct., 1823; married 1st, 12 Aug., 1857, Elizabeth Emily, dau. of late John Shelley, Esq., of Avington House, Hants; she died s.p. 30 July, 1865; he married 2ndly, 3 Sept., 1879, Janet, 2nd dau. of Philip Pleydell-Bouverie, Esq., of Brymore, Somerset (see Foster's Baronetage).
