Pinkett, (Hon.) Francis Frederick, chief justice of Sierra Leone, West African Settlements, since 1882, Queen's advocate Gold Coast since 1882, administrator of the Government May to June, 1881, and April to Aug., 1883, served in Ionian Islands 1855-6, Crown solicitor, master of supreme court, and registrar-general of Sierra Leone 1880-2, acting chief justice and member of Executive and Legislative Councils in 1881, sometime lieut. Wiltshire militia, a student of Gray's Inn 23 Jan., 1861, called to the bar 17 Nov., 1863, admitted a barrister at the Middle Temple ad eundem 19 Nov., 1863 (younger son of Edward S. Pinkett, Esq., of Barnstaple, Devon); born , ; married 14 Aug., 1867, Catharine, 2nd dau. of Capt. John de Lancy Robinson, R.N., of Buckland Braunton, Devon (see Foster's Baronetage, Robinson).
